University of Maryland
At Alpha Delta Pi, we are a sisterhood of friends, a family of individuals, and a home away from home. We embrace every woman's uniqueness, we encourage and support each other's goals and dreams, and we value character above all else. Founded in 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia, Alpha Delta Pi was the first secret society for women.
Our chapter, Beta Phi, was founded at University of Maryland on April 26th, 1940. Since then, our sisters have been committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards and social responsibility. Our open motto, “We live for each other,” symbolizes our strong sisterhood within Beta Phi, University of Maryland’s Greek community, and Alpha Delta Pi nationally. From the moment women approach the giant pillars at our chapter house, they are welcomed with true friendship, fun and laughter. Our sisters support each other through all obstacles of life and never fail to be encouraging, reliable and honest. We pride ourselves on being down-to-earth women who embrace diverse interests and backgrounds while sharing the common bond of our strong sisterhood. We hope our site gives you a glimpse of life here at ADPi Beta Phi, which is truly our home away from home.
