As members of the fraternity/sorority community, Alpha Delta Pi is proud to welcome those who want to enhance their college experience as part of something bigger. We select and maintain membership on the basis of scholarship, leadership, commitment, and service to the work of the sorority, the university, and the community. Alpha Delta Pi actively encourages a membership which represents a diverse population and does not discriminate in membership selection procedures. Come home to Alpha Delta Pi and find women who are true and loyal, just like our blue and white colors represent. ADPi sisters are leaders and visionaries. We are SGA senators, artists, student athletes, and scholars. We are committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards, and social responsibility. We committed to those when we established the first secret society for collegiate women in 1851 at the first university chartered to grant degrees to women. We are committed to them still today.

As members of the University of Maryland’s Panhellenic Association (PHA), we participate in Primary Recruitment each spring and are happy to open our doors to remarkable women eligible. In addition, we hold Informal Recruitment in both fall and spring semesters to expand our opportunities to bring in sisters for life.
Three of our sisters share #WHYADPi
“ADPi was the once place throughout recruitment that I kept looking forward to returning to! It was always a welcoming atmosphere and I felt surrounded by people who allowed me to feel comfortable and like myself. Even after I transferred schools and ADPi chapters, Beta Phi mirrored the same sisterhood I had originally joined, welcoming me like a true family and shaping me into an even better version of myself. The consistency in character and sisterhood is why I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
– Manha Shaikh, Alpha Class Spring 2024
“Going into recruitment I didn’t know much about sororities, no one in my family had anything to do with greek life when they went to college. Every time I walked into ADPi I felt welcomed and at home, the girls made me giggle and complimented every outfit I wore. I didn’t have to pretend I was something I wasn’t. My first weeks in the chapter I knew I made the right decision, everyone continued to make me smile and give me a new home at Maryland. I have made my best friends who love and support me through anything.”
– Faith Lange, Alpha Class Spring 2023
“I chose ADPi because of their amazing philanthropy, the Ronald McDonald House! Having years of experience with the organization, I was excited to learn it was ADPi’s philanthropy! In addition to that, I felt an instant connection with the girls there from the moment I stepped into the house! They were all so welcoming and friendly, and I could not wait to go back! I truly couldn’t imagine being anywhere else!”
